New York City based photography duo, ioulex (aka Julia Koteliansky and Alexander Kerr) are covering Milan and Paris Fashion Week for “T: The New York Times Style Magazine.” We equipped them with two Leica M9s to cover all the action backstage and as such they’ll be keeping us, and you, updated here on the Leica blog. You can read more about their trip in our interview with them.
Paris is a city full of beautiful architecture and the designers here take full advantage of the amazing spaces available to them. So far, the venues for our assignments have ranged from the more traditional confines of the Ritz all the way to a construction site in the incredible basement of the Palais de Tokyo. Generally, it seems space is at a premium and this final fashion week of the season presents the most obstacles to the elusive “first look.” A picture of a model, wearing the new collection for the very first time and in full makeup is one of our ultimate goals and usually there are only a few short minutes to get the shot before she steps out of our frame and onto the catwalk.
