Philip Bruederle was born in 1981 and has lived in Berlin since 2003. He assisted different photographers there between 2003 and 2007 and has been an independent fashion and beauty photographer since 2007. His work was published in magazines such as Plaza Kvinna (“Plaza Woman”), Jolie, sleek, Style and the Family Tunes and several others. He has shot advertising for many companies including Orwell, New Yorker, Philips Haircare and Wella.
He is essentially a portrait photographer even in his commercial work.
The project shown in the video above is a cooperation between Philip, Leica and Promod Model Agency. Philip did photograph especially young faces, models at the beginning of their career. These images show an attractive mix between portrait and produced picture.

Is it just me or do those images looks like Demarchelier’s work without glam, and elegancy ??

Great portraits!

I don’t know why, but it seems like they do have a tiny bit of make-up… Anyway, it would have been much more interesting if random young girls walking in the street were picked and shot, rather than models. Then you could really see what a young face is telling.

Nice portraits, but regarding the title, “what a young face is telling” I agree with shira. “Random” street photos would work better. This is just staged models.

Amazing images. I’m the same age as the photographer. Wish I had that talent to photograph people.

Wow! Incredible! Made my whole day 🙂
What is the matter with some of these commenters? Is it jealousy? If you can’t say something nice, why bother taking the time to insult?
@alkravt since when does street photography reveal all? It’s all subjective. Would love to see you shoot in the street with an S2!!

Cant help my self but those are just a few ordinary snaps with no soul or idea..

I think the title lost something in translation to English.
I’ve been experimenting with one-light portraiture since I saw it first mentioned on the Leica Facebook page, and it’s not as easy as this guy makes it look.
Whether or not you like the photos, you have to respect him for putting in the time and making the sacrifices to follow a career path that now allows him to shoot beautiful women with a Leica S2.

Images are totally beautiful. Very professional, no doubt. To me title didn’t match the photos. Agree, it’s all subjective. I didn’t think to insult anyone and am sorry if I did.
And I would too, love to see myself “shoot in the street with an S2!!”. That’s for sure.

The bad comments are just jealous people. Philip B. is one of the best newcomers of our generation. Every picture is awesome.
