What is it like shooting with the Leica Q2 Monochrom in comparison to the other Leica cameras you have previously used?

Shooting with the Leica Q2 Monochrom is nothing short of liberating. As a predominantly Leica M shooter, the Q2 Monochrom bridges the gap between the classic rangefinder camera and the modern high performing mirrorless system cameras.

What is the highlight of shooting with the Q2 Monochrom and how it is suited to your style of photography?

From photo to video, to candid shots and composed geometrical images, the Q2 Monochrom is an exceptional camera for photographing the fast-paced streets of London. Its durability against the elements and being rated at IP54 is another huge advantage, it pushes me to create more daring and challenging street photographs.

How is the Leica Q2 ideal for your fashion and lifestyle content creation?

I can easily put it in my bag to carry everywhere with me and have that spontaneity, which is very important for candid photos. With the Leica Q2, I can have the image quality of a professional full-frame camera but the convenience of a phone.

What is your favourite feature on the Leica Q2?

I like the colours on the Leica Q2, and how the camera manages the shadows. I also love the fixed 28mm lens. It’s perfect to have a slightly wider shot than 35mm for my fashion content as I love to capture the environment too, not just my outfits. The camera is so easy to use, I can have my non-photographer friends take pictures and I still don’t lose out on the quality of my content.

Why do you enjoy shooting on the Leica Q2

I love that the viewfinder is so bright and clear. The files that the Leica Q2 creates are also amazing in technical quality. That means that I can process them in so many unique and creative ways. They allow me to play with exposure, colours, textures and clarity really easily.

What imagery do you enjoy shooting on the Leica Q2 and why?

I am obsessed with night-time imagery and more cinematic street-style photography. With the Leica Q2, the colours are rich and beautiful, the images feel editorial and on top of that, it can shoot at a slow shutter, which makes it perfect for night and low-light photography. Moreover, the Q2 comes with an excellent sensor and the technical cleanliness and purity of the files, enables me to do some of my most creative work at edit stage.
